After many years as a potter, I became aware of the beauty and potential of fused glass and realized I had found an exciting new medium. The process of assembling bits of flat colored glass into pleasing patterns and “pictures” is a design challenge. After firing these assemblages in my kiln the transformation is always satisfying and thrilling
In 2010 I was privileged to spend three weeks at Dale Chihuly’s Pilchuck Glass School in Washington State which was one of the highlights of my life.
I attended Wellesley College (BA in Art History, 1957) and Harvard Graduate School of Education (M.ED, 1958). After a varied career in business and retail, I became a full time artist upon my retirement. I enjoy participating in juried shows in the St. Louis area and my work is carried at several galleries in Missouri and Illinois. |
